Hello,

I have been looking around and trying to make sense of what is clearly a very, diverse sector. I have read through some of this forum and I think you all seem to be the best informed and most supportive so I was wondering if I could ask for some advice.

I have a BA 2:1 (Hons) from a UK institution (not in English) and at the end of May will have completed 120 Hours TEFL course with the TEFL Academy (including 20 hours intensive classroom tuition)

I have 5 years experience in youth work in Scotland but want to become a teacher. I am keen to gain some teaching experience abroad before starting a PDGE(s) and would like to also make a little bit of money at the same time.

I have an interview for an opportunity for Istanbul but this would be just for experience. I am interested in maybe UAE.

I would be happy to teach from primary level upwards but for most of the positions I am seeing I am not sure that I have the right experience? Not having an English degree or current teaching experience (other than voluntary)

I am quite ready to pack up and leave so if you have any tips, advice or pointers that would really help!

Thank you very much.

Sorry, I'm a Yank without much knowledge of PGCE or other UK secondary (or elementary) credentials.

I do know that seekteachers.com is a good site for UK teachers because they do a bit of recruiting. It's also a very labor-intensive site to upload your qualifications. Have a scanner and internet connection ready to work overtime. Idea
