Hello Good People.

I am in Brasil at present looking for teaching positions but have arrived too late as the academic year has already begun. However, if anyone has any hints or leads they can pass on they will be much appreciated.

I have modified my plans to leave the country soon and return in the summer up to Carnaval and the beginning of the school year again. However, this means I have to make my money stretch a lot further. I would ideally like to find some teaching work in this time in any of the countries surrounding Brasil. I know there are good opportunities in Argentina, especially Buenos Aires but I also know there are a lot of teachers and potential teachers there flooding the market at present and that you tend to spend money in Buenos Aires because there is no beach to bum around on but plenty of things to do, which unfortunately takes money, which would defeat my purpose.

If you have no info on teaching positions can anyone advise on a cheap country to pass the time happily in until I return to Brasil. I hear that Bolivia is cheap and beautiful. Can anyone recommend anywhere in particular?

Obrigado amigos
Tchau
Dave

Dave,

This may seem like an obvious question but have you tried doing some privates to tide you over until the next semester? Also you may want to look for some corporate work...they tend to work on schedules that don't coincide with the school year.

Don't give up Rio Dave...you'll find work.
