A business school in Mexico claims they "can't" procress my application because the goverment requires a "piece of paper" that states I have a TEFL certificate and A FULL MASTERS DEGREE IN ENGLISH WITH A CONCENTRATION IN ESL can't be a substitute for that-- nor, by the way, can relevant teaching experience in Latin America or a US teaching certificate. They said I have to get the TEFL certificate or they can't hire me, and no one (they claim) can waive it based on my coursework. Has anyone else heard of this nonsense??

Never heard of that Kelly. But a good general rule when applying for jobs is that when you feel uncomfortable with a situation or an employer...move on...trust your gut and find anohter employer.

Can you PM me with the name of the business school? What you quoted is ridiculous, but I have a sneaking suspicion.
