I am currently looking for first-time teaching work in Taiwan. All of my correspondence with Mr. Wu has been straight forward and professional, but I have seen some warnings about him. Does anyone have advice on this recruiter??

Thanks for any help given.

I don't know this recruiter, but why don't you just go and see the situation for yourself. Looking for jobs on the spot is almost always better.

I know nothing of this recruiter ( Bryan Wu ) but if there are warnings then I would take them seriously and try somewhere else.

I'm also South African and after sending all the necessary documentation to Bryan Wu, I'm being asked to forward a video of my classroom style. I've decided NOT to do it until I am convinced of Bryan Wu. When you talk about warning signs, from WHICH SOURCE did you get this information? This would be helpful so as to make a thorough investigation.

Avoid Bryan Wu and any school he gives you offers from! He and the Green English School in Erlin treated me very badly. The negotiating experience with Mr. Wu was such a hassle. He has no respect for people who make reasonable demands with their contracts. He will try to play psychological games when you do try to make reasonable demands with the contracts.

He told me that I had a job at the Green English School in Erlin before I flew over from Taiwan. He neglected to tell me that I have a to another demonstration before I got the job. The teacher in-charge named Emily said if I didn't do a demo, then they wouldn't sign the contract. So, if that school neglected to tell me that detail, then what other details were they not going to tell me. The Green English school is not a professionally run school. Emily the head teacher there doesn't know how practically communicate with native-born English speakers, and she hasn't lived in an English speaking country before. She gives very vague and conflicting directions, and she tries to blame you when you don't understand her directions. She has a volatile and fickle demeanor. She can be nice one second, then the next second she can get angry. Her sister Carol who writes the paycheck and deals with the contracts is kind of an absentee boss. Carol expects you to put up with Emily's abusive behavior. She will excuse her sister's behavior every time. Carol doesn't even know what the word pregnant means, and this is a person who got her Master's in TESOL from the U.K. If they can't even do those kinds of things, then it shows you should avoid Bryan Wu and the Green English School like the plague! Also avoid any school the Bryan Wu tries to help.

. THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF EVIL. THERE IS SLEEP WITH THE LIGHTS ON EVIL. THERE IS CROSS THE ROAD EVIL. BRYAN WU IS A HIGHER FORM OF EVIL. BRYAN WU LIES LIKE THE DEVIL. HE WILL BE THE END OF YOUR LIFE. GOOGLE HIS NAME. BRYAN WU IS THE KIND OF EVIL THAT SHOULD BE SLAPPED BY THE POPE. [/b]
