Before you start sending resumes and passport scans (especially for China art, IB,, subject and English ESL or TEFL Teacher jobs) be damn sure to check both the White and Blacklists so your overseas dream job does not become a nightmare! My first teaching job in China was horrible with split shifts and three different locations and an employer that NEVER got me a Z visa and took fake taxes out of my pay. Three months after I took the job, about a dozen other fellow teachers I met at pubs told me they were blacklisted for years.

I now have a job with a whitelisted school that is registered with both SAFE and SAIC and the difference is night and day. Here's where you can find the info you need https://ruqqus.com/+TEFLBlacklist and https://reddit.com/r/chinascamcentral.
These links come in handy even for veteran teachers, or any expat looking for any job in China. Good luck to all of you! Another good site for a global check is https://reddit.com/r/tefl_tips_traps_scams. Good luck boys and girls!

Here's the 2020 UPDATED China Blacklist of abusive and/or dishonest employers and shady recruiters https://www.docdroid.net/ZU9pFSI/cftu2020blacklist-pdf

The 2020 Whitelist is one the second page at https://reddit.com/r/TEFL_tips_traps_scams.

I use both of these lists fore the last 6 years and they served me well (Never Wrong).

Look guys, rather than lose sleep over who you are dealing with, I think it is better if we just find our own teaching gigs knowing the following is absolutely factual:

1) Most risks come from dealing with middlemen (job agents and recruiters) that can easily be an identity thief, a skimmer, or a resume broker.

2) There are many places to get contact info for direct employers so we can send our own resumes and cover letters. See https://reddit.com/r/eslscams for about 500 schools/universities that hire directly.

3) If you check the posts at https://ruqqus.com/+TEFL you will see the countries that pay the highest salaries around the world.

So there is no reason to worry ourselves with lists if we go the DIY route IMO. I started doing this in 2018 and I always found jobs that pay at least $5,000 more a year than anything advertised online.
