I don't believe recruiters anymore, so can some real experienced ESL & TEFL teachers weigh in here with the facts? Thanks. |

Japan pays well and also China. But you'll get a better lifestyle in Japan. India is the least desirable for ESL teachers. |

You can try teaching ESL online. There is a great demand for online teachers in China and Japan. |

This is definitely the case in China. If you are great with kids then there are plenty of jobs for teaching kindergarten age. |

|

2020 UPDATE:
In 2020 things have really changed and China is no longer in the top 5 countries for salaries, even though the pay of foreign language teachers in China now average $62,000 a year. But English teachers earn a lot more in 9 other countries.
Don't believe the LOW-BALL Salaries that ESL Recruiters and TEFL job agents quote you because 99% of them are skimming your salary every month in violation of the law. Most every country caps the fees of HR agents, head hunters, and job agents to 1 month's salary maximum. But if you sign a contract with anyone other than your direct employer, you WILL get screwed.
Anyway here you can find the salaries for teachers in 90 different countries if you get you job directly from the employer. https://ruqqus.com/+ChinaTEFL/post/53jr/2020-tefl-teacher-salaries-around-the If you want the free lists of direct employers and their contact info, go to https://reddit.com/r/cftu
This is a costly and aggravating lesson every new ESL and TEFL teacher learns the hard way as I did myself back in 2013. Good luck guys.[ https://media.makeameme.org/created/67c9c8a941.jpg _________________ Don't send your passport or passport scan to anyone and NEVER upload your resume until you read up at https://reddit.com/r/ESLscams.
