JET is the only reliable one imo,

otherwise check out gaijinpot.com

it's a great way to get started and seeing what the pay-range is like.

visit Japan, walk into a school, ask for a job... odds are you'll get it

Really?? Walk into a school and you will probably get it?

I think most people are worried that they will get there and be stuck without a job for an extended amount of time, which is why they try and organise it in advance.

If only walking into schools and asking for jobs were that reliable!

Try the School Finder guide before you go.

It contains over 10,000 ESL School addresses worldwide. Of these, there are over 400 ESL Schools in Japan. These include contact persons, email addresses and telephone numbers.

In the first instance, send your CV to the schools via email and follow this up with a telephone call.

If there are no vacancies, they will keep your CV on file and contact you when there is.

Best of luck
